A Piece of Büyük Menderes Valley

Such a wonderful landscape...a place where warriors and kings, apostles and disciples, patrons and travellers of old once walked. #Hierapolis in Büyük Menderes valley

Sight to Behold!

Sight to Behold!.

Sight to Behold!

I wonder how awesome the view of the travertines and the ruins of Hierapolis is on a hot air balloon? I did enjoy the sight though from the top of the theatre with a balloon adding color to an already awe-inspiring view! #happychild

The Martyrium

Because I didn't do my homework, I missed this part of Hierapolis. The St. Philip Martyrium is believed to be the place where St. Philip the Apostle was buried. It dates back to the 5th Century and is located at the top of the hill outside the Northeastern part of the ancient Greek city walls.
